    Kiddings ("we", "us") is a parenting memory app that helps you capture and privately treasure your child's moments. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Kiddings is intended for use by parents and guardians (adults) — children do not use the app themselves.

    This section applies to the Kiddings website, not the mobile app. The app’s privacy information elsewhere on this page is unchanged.

    • Optional advertising: Google Ads is blocked until you accept advertising cookies. If you accept, Google’s tag may use cookies and process browsing information, such as the pages you visit, ad interactions, cookie identifiers, and technical information about your browser or device, to measure campaigns and personalize ads. This information may be shared with Google. This website tag does not receive the private memories you store in the app.
    • Your choice: Accept and Reject are available to all website visitors. Rejecting does not prevent you from reading the website or following download links. Essential website functions and font requests are separate from this optional Google Ads permission.
    • Remembering your preference: We store your advertising-cookie choice in this browser’s local storage for up to 180 days (about six months). It contains the choice, its expiry, and a settings version—not your name, email, or journal entries. If your browser cannot save the choice, optional advertising remains off and we show a warning.
    • Changing your mind: Use Cookie settings on any website page to change your choice. Withdrawing acceptance refreshes the current page to stop Google’s loaded tag, blocks future loading, and removes accessible Google Ads cookies and storage on this website. It does not undo information already sent to Google or delete cookies on Google’s own domains. Each browser and device has its own setting.

    Information we collect

    • Account information: your email address (for sign-in and account security).
    • Child profile: the name, birth date, and avatar you enter for your child.
    • Memories you create: text notes and quotes, photos, videos, voice recordings, tags, and favorites you add.
    • Family sharing: if you invite family or friends, we store the membership and role you assign so shared memories can be shown to them.
    • Basic technical data: standard information needed to operate the service (e.g., authentication tokens). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

    How we use it

    • To provide the app: store, display, and organize your memories and insights.
    • To sync your data across your devices and back it up.
    • To enable the private family sharing you choose to set up.
    • To secure your account and send essential emails (sign-in, password reset).

    We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your memories for advertising.

    Where your data is stored

    Your data is stored with our cloud provider, Supabase, which hosts our database and file storage. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Photos, videos, and voice notes are kept in private storage and are accessible only to you and the family members you invite, according to your sharing settings. Access is enforced by row-level security so people only see what you allow.

    Service providers

    • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
    • Email delivery — transactional emails (verification, password reset) are sent via our email provider.
    • Google Fonts — fonts may be fetched to render the app.

    These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

    Sharing

    Memories are private by default. They are shown to another person only when you invite them to your child's storybook and choose what they can see (for example, only memories you tag "Share with Fam"). You can remove a member's access at any time.

    Your choices & rights

    • Access & edit: view and edit your child profile and memories in the app.
    • Delete: delete individual memories at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below and we will remove it.
    • Export: you can export your memories as a keepsake PDF from within the app.

    Data retention

    We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a memory, it is removed from our systems; when you delete your account, your personal data and media are deleted.

    Children's privacy

    Kiddings is designed for parents and guardians. It is not directed to children, and children do not create accounts or use the app. The content about a child is entered and controlled by the adult account holder.

    Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
